Iontophoretic cobalt staining of the body wall of Phocanema decipiens.

چکیده
Iontophoretic cobalt staining of the nematode Phocanema decipiens results in the deposition of cobalt between the contractile bases of adjacent muscle cells and in a hexagonal lattice pattern in the hypodermis. The possibility of staining sarcolemmal invaginations between muscle cells which are proprioceptive or coordinate the activity of adjacent muscle cells is suggested.

Application of Ultrasonic Waves to Detect Sealworms in Fish Tissue
---------------------------ABSTRACT----------------------------The potential of employing ultrasonic waves to detect sealworms embedded deep in the fish musculature was demonstrated. Images were made of sealworm-infested cod by using both the scanning laser acoustic microscopic technique, as well as the pulse-echo technique at 10 MHz, Also, attenuation of ultrasound in the frequency range from ...
متن کاملAn In-Vitro Iontophoretic Permeation Study of Nicotine through Rat Skin
Nicotine transdermal systems are being used as an aid to smoking cessation programs. As the kinetics of nicotine delivery is important in success of a smoking cessation program, rapid and high input of nicotine is required, which is not possible by passive methods and requires enhancement strategies such as iontophoresis. Iontophoretic permeation, of nicotine looks promising, based on published...
متن کاملStudying the effects of pH and molecular charge on the passive and iontophoretic permeation of L-phenylalanine through cellulose acetate membrane
Iontophoresis is one of the skin permeation enhancement methods involving the transport of drugs through the skin under the effect of electrical current. The effect of molecular charge on the iontophoretic permeation of drugs has not been completely understood yet. Therefore the effect of passive and iontophoretic permeation of L-phenylalanine at pH 3.6 (positive charge) and pH 8 (negative ch...
متن کاملComparison of cell wall proteins in putative Candida albicans & Candida dubliniensis by using modified staining method & SDSPAGE
Background: Candida species are among the most common causes of opportunistic fungal diseases. Among Candida species, Candida albicans is responsible for most infections. Having many strains, C. albicans is very polymorph. C. dubliniensis is very similar to albicans species both morphologically and physiologically. For an infection to occur, cell wall proteins play an important role as they en...
